The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) is a national standard body in India. The Bureau grants a license based on audit of manufacture, production process, quality control, and the completeness of the submitted documents. Since 2018, 63 chemicals have been added to the BIS list and this list is regularly being updated. BIS certification is required by every manufacturer (Indian or foreign) who is manufacturing products under the Compulsory Certification.
