Chemical Regulatory Framework in Colombia

Colombia enacted its chemical framework in 2021 via Decree 1630, becoming the second country in Latin America planning to implement a comprehensive chemical regulatory regime. Decree 1630 aims to advance sound chemical management through establishing a National Inventory of Chemical Substances, a chemical prioritization scheme, substance risk evaluation, and management programs. Decree 1630 also implements a Registry for Emission and Transfer of Contaminants (RETC) and a Toxicological Management System (SGT).

This webinar will enable you to understand the recent regulatory updates in Colombia, including the process, requirements, compliance matters, and deadlines.

Topics to be covered are:

  • Background and Management Instruments under Decree 1630
  • Manufacturer and importers’ obligations
  • Key Institutes in chemical management
  • Compliance requirements
