Food contact materials (FCM) include food containers, packaging, machinery, kitchenware, etc. Food contact materials and articles may affect the odor, taste, and color of food that come in contact with them, and may release a certain amount of toxic chemicals, which will migrate into food and cause harm to our human health. To reduce the exposure to potentially hazardous substances, the safety of FCM must be assessed thoroughly and strictly, arousing the publics great attention to the management of FCM safety. The U.S. FCM regulatory system is well developed and sets very strict and comprehensive management measures to ensure the safety of FCM.
