On 5 January 2021, a new regulation came into force regulating the obligation to report to SCIP database. Companies exporting an article in the European market have to report whether the articles contain any of the SVHCs on the REACH Candidate list if the substance comprises more than 0.1 % of the article by weight. The purpose of SCIP database is to ensure information about SVHCs is available throughout the whole life cycle of products and materials, including at the waste disposal stage.
